Xxxx has just reminded me why I dislike Postmodernism so much. How can one
take seriously someone who puts world in scare quotes? Derrida's throw
away line 'il n'y a rien hors du texte' has been taken up as gospel by what
can only be described as idiots. I am reminded here of the scene in Monty
Python and the Holy Grail where the mob led by John Cleese follow Jesus
into the desert despite the fact that he keeps telling them to fuck
off. But they will serve the Master or the latest guru. I especially like
the scene where they leap upon his discarded sandal and treat it as a holy
thing.
Just so those intellectuals who pore over Derrida and actually believe
every word that proceedeth from the old trickster's lips.
regards
Gary
