Re: Naomi Klein on vigilante capitalism
For some reason my response to the Naomi Klein article didn't come through,
at least to my mail program.
So I would ask again, is a consumption tax on oil progressive? Would not a
tax on oil company income be preferrable?
And if this is true, given the explosiveness of this issue, might there not
be possibilities for a well written resolution on the subject passing in
local union meetings around the country?
Which, if it caught on, would force the union leadership to choose between
their "friends" in Washington DC and their members and increasingly
desperate small business people and farmers.
Of course, such a resolution could address questions of war and alternative
to fossil fuels as well.
