Sex work under capitalism is sexual service in return for wages or
fees (sex workers may be workers or petty producers). Sex work under
socialism won't be "sex for sale" since the labor market gets
abolished with capitalism. The references to therapists & masseurs
are by way of analogy, since all three are personal services.
Therapists under capitalism work for wages or fees (either as workers
or petty producers). Therapists under socialism won't be offering
their work on sale in the market under socialism. Sex work under
socialism, I suppose, doesn't have to be therapeutic, though I see
some therapeutic potential in it (even now, there is a service called
sex therapy). I see educational, artistic, and other potentials in
it also: sex workers under socialism can be offering sexual services
as forms of art, education, etc. For instance, sex work as hands-on
sex education.
