Relax, Alan, I have no intention of engaging in a polemic with yourself,
over all this. I said my piece in the context of an attempt to understand
sectism especially of the Barnes type. As for Tom O'Lincoln, well him I
will not forgive nor forget. When I see the degeneration of ISO my anger
is renewed. In his post he refers to an attack on me by someone called
Pearn. I have not seen it. Nor do I particularly want to.
It was not, as O'Lincoln tries to put it, a matter of us all behaving
badly. I tried to argue in my post that it was a question that the
leadership chose to follow Cliff in the "Leninisation" of the ISO.
Lou, in what I believe is an original but under-recognized contribution to
Marxist political theory, has argued persuasively that this mode of
organisation was brought into the Marxist movement by Zinoviev and not by
Lenin. Arguably also it is this Zinovievisation that accounts for all the
bizarre behavior of the groups.
BTW have you rejoined the party?
warm regards
Gary
