The Greens were split. Nasty things had transpired in Bosnia and Europe
had done nothing to stop the slaughter; more gruesomeness was in
the offing in Kosovo, and Fischer thought he was doing the right thing.
That's very different from a cynical, pro-US Realpolitik which glorifies
bloodshed.
