Doug Henwood/Mark Jones exchange (from LBO-Talk)

Nestor has described capitalism as "a social system based upon
a negative human drive". IMHO capitalism is not a system BASED
on a human drive. Capitalism is certainly characterised by a 'drive'
for capital accumulation, which 'drive' is based on the relations of
production SPECIFIC to the capitalist mode of production.
