Capitalists define greed as the driving force behind capitalism. Greed is
only one aspect of human nature. All social systems are rooted in human
nature. Some systems celebrate cooperation and sharing, others celebrate
competition and greed. It is more than inaccurate to call anyone who
criticizes capitalism as being driven by greed as a supporter of capitalism.
As for the next war, it will come whether self-styled social democrats like it
or not. It is not their call. It is the capitalists' call. World wars are not
started because socialism has something to gain from it. Be real. War is
merely a militarized version of competition by capitalist logic. It is simply
naive to think that nuclear war is its own deterrent.
I suppose Ulhas will now accuse me of advocating a world war. Ulhas idea of
supporting socialism is to pretend that capitalism has turned a new leaf
toward peace or that socialism can prevent a capiatlist world war in the
coming decade.
