Mike Alewitz was a founder and chairman of the Kent Student Mobilization
Committee Against the War in Vietnam. An eyewitness to the massacre of four
students on May four 1970, he was a leader of the national student strike
which followed those shootings and the murders at Jackson State ten days
later. Alewitz is the Artistic Director of the LaBOR aRT & MuRAL PRoJECT,
and teaches mural painting at Central CT State University.
