A "turn" against the kidnappers
- Subject: A "turn" against the kidnappers

Yesterday, the 11th circuit court in Atlanta ruled that the Miami relatives
could not visit Elian. This legal blow occurred within the context of much
more hostile press coverage, which would seem to indicate that the decisive
sectors of the American ruling class have made up their minds to
disassociate themselves from the Miami counter-revolutionaries for the time
being. To help them create a climate that makes such a maneuver possible,
the major media have now begun to tell the truth about the kidnappers,
which they knew about all along. This item from the Washington Post had the
rightwing talk show hosts on New York City's WABC livid with rage last
night. (WABC is owned by the Disney corporation which also owns the
television network that aired Diane Sawyers atrocious "interview" with Elian.)

A Fisherman And His 15 Minutes; Man Who Found Elian Enjoys the Spotlight
Michael Leahy , Washington Post Staff Writer
Three nights after a federal agent found him trying to hide in a cramped
closet with Elian Gonzalez in his arms, Donato Dalrymple sits in his
Georgetown hotel room at midnight, ready to talk for hours, his body clock
by now like a Vegas lounge singer's.
Oliver North rushed up to him a few hours ago to call him a hero. Some CNBC
lovelies sought his attentions and autograph. And just five minutes ago, in
a cab coming back from yet another television interview, he heard Howard
Stern say his name on the radio. "Howard Stern! Howard Stern!" he is
exulting. "It was just too cool," says The Fisherman.
Elian may be gone, but Donato Dalrymple, a k a The Fisherman, is in demand.
"Did you know Elian liked to lick my face?" he asks, apropos of nothing.
