An interesting insight into the nature of White Australian society has been
provided by the reaction of the political parties and the media to the
Zimbabwe story.  One item was prefaced by  media advice to us that the
scenes they were about to show might be 'upsetting'. That made me laugh.

Now the Howard Govt has offered to take in a lot (all?) of the
settlers.  There is complete identification at the level of white
colonialism between the dominant Anglo culture here in Australia and their
white cousins in Zimbabwe.  Sheesh - all we need in Australia is 40, 000
more white racists.
