L-I: RE: Jim Craven interview

Hi Louis,

Just got back from the interview; will send the part you missed with other
tapes in a Blackfoot Care package. Eugene Johnson did the interview; and for
all of you who have sent words and messages of support to Eugene thanks from
him. BTW a correction, Felicia, Eugene's adopted daughter is not a product
of a union between Eugene and Eugene's biological mother but rather the
daughter of Eugene's relative who left Felicia with Eugene who formally
adopted her to keep her safe. Felicia was/is Eugene's cousin and now his
daughter; both are enrolled Siletz Indians and Eugene is struggling to keep
custody and to keep Felicia Siletz and away from forced conversion to a
perverted form of "Christianity", de-Indianization and forced assimilation.
Anyone, please help them if you can--kind words of support alone help also.

I'm now on my way to a speech by the Makah Elder George Bowechop at Portland
State University where the Sea Fascists/Racists of Watson are planning to
demonstrate against this kind and very principled Elder. Let's see what
they've got.

Thanks again Louis and you are right about the technology being imperative
to counter the concentrated media in the hands of the evil ones. Soon we'll
be in Browning and in Alberta.

And Mark, I'm sorry you left as moderator of L-I and pray dearly that your
health is holding up. You will be missed as moderator and I know will always
be needed and respected in the movement which I know you will never leave.

Jim

Subject: Jim Craven interview

As soon as I got home from work, I downloaded the Winamp software which is
necessary to play the KBOO streaming input. By the time it was installed
and ready to go, the radio show was half-over and unfortunately past the
Makah segment. I did manage to hear the entire interview with Jim, which
dealt with Blackfoot confederacy issues. Although I have been in touch with
him for a long time now about this important development, it was great to
hear him personalize it through a radio interview with a sympathetic
interviewer--an Indian himself I gather.

While listening to this using the latest technology, it dawned on me how
important all this technology is to the coming world revolution (yes, I am
serious). During the 1980s, when I was in CISPES, we raised money for Radio
Venceremos. Could you imagine if we had their broadcasts over the Internet
direct from the field?

The class enemy is trying desperately to shut down alternative points of
view. As almost everybody knows, a Clintonite hack on the board of
directors of Pacifica Radio in the US has been trying with some success to
tame the various stations in that network, so they would exclude points of
views like Jim's. The continuing existence of small community nonprofit
stations like KBOO and their growing ties to the Internet can be a
mitigating factor.
