Re: More Delightful Insight From Jared

On Friday, 10 March, 2000, 19:23:24 EST, Jared Israel

In a stunning demonstration of the dialectical method
which underlies Mihailovicism-Milosevicism-Jared
Israel Thought, Comrade Jared Israel, steadfast
defender of a regime which includes Votislav Seselj,
has once again accused Tito's Yugoslavia of
insufficient diligence in fighting racism.

Let's see how this plays out on the ground in one case
study, shall we?

It is December 25, 1992. A fourteen-year-old girl is
entering her apartment in Sarajevo. Unfortunately,
she has made the mistake of carrying a guitar along
with her, an indication that she is celebrating
Christmas thirteen days before the Serb-approved
Orthodox holiday. Now, in Sarajevo, the custom since
Tito's victory has been for everyone, of all
nationalities, to celebrate everyone's holidays
(Catholic, Orthodox, or Muslim). But when the Serb
sniper across the way spots a fourteen-year-old girl
with a guitar, the only thing he sees is a Croat, an
Ustasha. So he shoots her.

Now, what's the better explanation for this? What
allows this sniper to perpetrate such barbarism with a
clear conscience? Is it the failure of Tito's
Yugoslavia to inculcate a proper aversion to national
chauvinism? Or is it, perhaps, the demagogy of the
racist Serbian state and its proxies in Bosnia?

The question would be an interesting one to debate,
except, comrades, that the answer is: NEITHER! I've
asked you a trick question! You see, it was a Serb
who was doing the shooting, and if we apply the
dialectical method of Mihailovicism-Milosevicism-Jared
Israel Thought, we come to understand that the
possible explanations for this event go as follows:

(1) It didn't happen. The person who tells the story
is ethnically predisposed to fascism, and therefore
suspect. To even mention such things is to violate
one of the central tenets of
Mihailovicism-Milosevicism-Jared Israel Thought, for
as Comrade Jared Israel has pointed out in his classic
work "The Obligatory Bash," any criticism of Serbs is
tantamount to subservience to imperialism.

(2) It did happen, but it was the work of one bad
individual, and cannot be attributed to a general
racist policy on the part of the Serb state (which we
call "Yugoslavia") or its proxies in Bosnia. No
matter how many similar stories you hear, it's all
just bad individuals, whose behavior cannot be
attributed to any racist demagogy on the part of Serb
leaders, who can do no wrong -- and in fact, most of
those stories are lies anyway, spread in the interests
of those who are ethnically predisposed to fascism,
and who just hate Serbs for the fun of it.

(3) It did happen, but so what? The occasional
shooting of civilians is necessary to defend the
Serbian people, who have been defending "civilization"
for centuries. Guitars can be dangerous things, you
know. And besides, as Comrade Mark Jones has pointed
out, some ethnic groups are just "bad rubbish" anyway.

I think I'm starting to get the hang of it now. Now
it's up to me to follow the advice of Louis Proyect
and do the only thing that will gain me credibility --
get myself a website like Comrade Jared Israel! Long
live Mihailovicism-Milosevicism-Jared Israel Thought!
Marxists of the world, it is your duty to run up $250
phone bills talking to Chetniks in Belgrade!
