Zionism and Left Jewish culture

Not only that.  The Argentinian Jewish worker's culture, which was as
much Leftist as that of the New York working class Jews, and which
peaked between the 30s and 50s, was also destroyed ruthlessly. The
fact is, both cultures stemmed from the Jewish worker's culture of
Eastern Europe, and they flourished both in North and South America
more or less by the same time. In Argentina, the Jewish culture was
also destroyed due to the good offices of the local Communist Party.

Argentinian Jews who did not want to become cultural fans of Israel
had, thus, little way but assimilation. I am one of these, and I am
proud of that. But I do know how much was lost in this passage.
