Fw: Stuart Kirby
I am doing research on Stuart Kirby who was a leading Trotskyist in Britain
in the 1930s. Subsequent to this he was in British Intelligence in the
Second World War and afterwards as an academic he wrote many books including
'Russian Studies of China'.
There are a only few mentions of him in book form- see 'Against the Stream'
by Sam Bornstein and Al Richardson, Earle Birney- a Life by Elspeth Cameron
and an intriguing mention of him in Dimitri Volkogonovs biography of Trotsky
(page xxxiv of the UKpaperback edition). Also there is an article by Ted
Crawford in the October 1999 issue of Workers Liberty (available on their
website).
Can anyone help with more information on this pioneer Trotskyist (especially
in relation to his links with the international movement).
