Loach to turn janitors into film stars

British director Ken Loach has hired dozens of real-life janitors and
office cleaners to star in his first US-based film, Bread And Roses.

He describes them as "real heroes" but has a low opinion of Los Angeles,
where the film is being made.

He describes the city as "probably the most hostile place on the planet".


And he says those working in the film industry are shallow, alienated and
obsessed with money.
