Pablo, etc.
- Subject: Pablo, etc.

I sent Alan Wald, historian exemplary of American Trotskyism, the URL's for
our archived discussion on Bert Cochran, decline and fall of the SWP, etc.
from July. This was his response:

Thanks for sending this; I've read most and they are quite interesting.
I was especially interested in the way that Jose described his
experiences on the PC in NYC.
Glad to see that Pablo is getting a reconsideration. The one time that I
met him (1978) in Paris he made a strong impression. He insisted that
we rendezvous at the very cafe where he, Sherry Mangan, George Breitman
and George Weissman were all arrested by the French police after WWII.
There's a new book from U. of N. Carolina Press by Timothy Tyson, RADIO
FREE DIXIE: ROBERT F. WILLIAMS AND THE ROOTS OF BLACK POWER. It has
many references to George Weissman and a few to Berta Green (Langston).
Williams's papers are here at U-M.
Hope to see you on Friday. Best, Alan
