This reminds me of a point that I wanted to make a while back. People have
not exactly complained about the volume on the list, but they do tell me
that it is a challenge to keep up with 20 to 40 posts a day. So here is my
proposal. On other lists like LBO, they have a policy that you are not
permitted to post more than 3 times a day. I hereby institute a new rule on
the Marxism list. Anybody who reads more than 10 posts a day will receive a
warning. After the first offense, they will receive a 30 day suspension
during which time they have to do manual labor like repairing the roof of a
barn or mending shoes. After the second offense, they will not only be
expelled, they will be sent to a jail that I am constructing in my mom's
house in upstate NY. This jail will not allow any fooling around, like
weight lifting or tv watching. You will be expected to read the Grundrisse
during confinement. Furthermore, to kill two birds with one stone, not only
am I instituting a 10 post per day reading limit, I am going to stipulate
that certain comrades are not going to be allowed to read the email of
other comrades who upset them. Specifically, I henceforth issue a
proletarian pronunciamento that Owen and Bernie not be allowed to read
Jared's email. And I also stipulate that Jared not be permitted to read
Bernie's. As soon as I figure out how to write a computer progam to keep
track of all this, I will announce it to the list.
