>From your own lines it is easy to gather that no Marxist
standpoint can be pro-Milosevic. It is queer, since the
only truly undisputable thing here is that NATO is
anti-Milosevic and we Marxists are anti-NATO. You may
understand that the only acceptable Marxist point of view
is the anti-Milosevic (thus, on the same side with the
NATO) one. But we on this list are of a wider view. We can
debate with you whether it is possible to be at the same
time Marxist and anti-Milosevic, or (vice versa) Marxist
and pro-Milosevic.

What no one on this list is prone to accept is such a
dictum as you pose. Marxism, my dear Bernie, is a method
and a way to struggle. Within this method there may be
immense differences of interpretation. It is only actual
struggle which will decide who was right. In the meantime,
let us not classify each other as if we were the only
owners of the truth. In fact, this is precisely what makes
us weak. The bourgeoisie -and on this we should learn from
them- debate points of view with a clear definition of
their interests. I do not see how can your idea that there
is _only one_ Marxist view on Yugoslavia help us clarify
our common interests. It seems to establish sectarian
debate instead.

And, yes, I personally believe -by the application of the
Marxist method- that the Milosevic regime is the most
progressive one currently in the Balkans. We may not be in
agreement, but this does not make me any less Marxist than
you. And, if we look at this in more detail, if Marxism is
a dogma then I will piss off Marxism. Luckily enough it is
not.

Nestor.
