Re: Hot Pursuit

Louis Proyect - I take it that you are the list-owner, Yes?

It seems OK to disseminate Greater Serbian nationalism on this list, but
not to ask questions. 'jared' chose to ignore a question in my first
post. That's fine, but to respond to it by a completely paranoid diatribe
is not ecological. I am sorry, but I smelled rotten fish. 'jared' chose
to publicise the Emperors Clothes web site, where I find a link to the
Serbian Foreign Minstry's web site, there to find his piece in some strange
company. In the short while I have been on this list, I have come across a
few odd references to the Balkans, that seem to be overtly pro-Milosevic,
rather than trying to understand the issues from a Marxist standpoint.

Having been following the Balkan developments for about a decade, I have
seen a well-oiled machine at work from Beograd, manipulating sections of
the world press and putting some absurd spin on the transparently obvious.
There have also been droves of supposed Marxists who swallow anything that
Beograd cares to say, often with relish. If some of your subscribers
either choose innocently to fall for that, or to actively help engineer it,
then in the first case they have a problem, called gullibility, and in the
second endanger the credibility of your list. Frankly I don't care either
way, and I am sure that they are happy people. Has there been a case in
the lifetime of your list where Bosnians, Kosovars or for that matter
Serbian internationalists have put their case, and answered some of the
sort of drivel issuing from the Serbian Foreign Minsistry? Of course not -
they would be fascists wouldn't they?!

What on Earth is wrong with asking for some discussion of a Marxist
position with regard to the nature of the Indonesian and Sebian states.

I'll ignore your silly put-down, but will maintain a watching brief.
