Afghanistan and islamic reaction : Notes of a liquidator

The victory of the islamic reactionaries in Afghanistan, whatever it
means to present and former Stalinists in the area (who should all be
unconditionally defended against capital punishment or summary
execution) will strengthen the oppression of women throughout the
world. It will revitalise the reactionaries in Algeria and the
southern republics of the FSU. And likewise in areas where islamics
are significant elements of the population such as East London (where
they mobilised large number in support of Khomeini's murder threat
against Salman Rushdie), threats to womens' rights, and the right of
free speech will grow.
