Am I right in believing that no Trotskyist party has ever held state power
with a brief exception in Sri Lanka?

Now, capturing the state is certainly no index of political wisdom or
virtue. But for a tendency that claims to have special access to revealed
truth, both theoretical and practical, why don't the Trots have a more
impressive track record?

Other questions: Do Trot groups show a special affinity for splintering
compared to other left groups? And why have so many ex-Trots become
neoconservatives - just an accident, or are there more structural reasons?
