Dear  Robert, gina, et al.

 Robert m. -- glad you stumbled back into the 2nd WW because its helps clarify
my point here .  Even the stalinist state caps planning was not unique.  State
caps. and militrarism was employed in allied as well as fascist imperialist
states.

Look at the state planning systems in UK, Italy, Germany, Japan China and even
the "privateer" capitalist exploiter  paradise the USA, as well as the USSR..
State caps made militarism much more
efficient for the short term interest. Of course in the long run, this becomes a
drag, nay an addiction, for some wings of capital --but is has a horrific but
necessary price to pay for imperailist ruling classes, east and west to begin a
new cycle of accumulation!. This  contradiction really
grabbed hold of  your ex- Russian USSR "degenerate workers state ' helping lead
to its collapse -as it was weaker capital overall than the USA and its bloc. Now
the USA , W. European states, Japan, are fracturing and the contradictions along
with others , Falling profit rates, more ugly competitions-end of accum. cycle
-are wreaking more havoc in western imperialism..
this is one of the underlying basis of the pairing down in state services for
workers,  "dowsizing" ,whilst increasing the dole outs for the capitalist class
parasites , including ouright parasitism, like the USA-- S&L bailouts of $500
Billion for the rich , a bi-partisan plan of Democrats and
Republicans, in western style  state cap/priv cap  unity..
