encoded files--PLEASE READ
- Subject: encoded files--PLEASE READ

The spoon collective tends to discourage the posting of encoded files to=20
its l*sts.
This is because most people don't have the knowhow or the technology to=20
view them, and they take up space and appear as meaningless junk. =20
(Believe it or not, we tend to be against the posting of meaningless junk=
=20
to our l*sts.)
Anyhow, and sorry to be a party-pooper etc., the pictures of Marcelina=20
and Luis are in fact of Jerry Lewis--respectively in drag at a bar and in=
=20
a boxing ring. You can view them at=20
http://jefferson.village.virginia.edu/~spoons/marxism_html/pix.html.
I enclose an ascii version of the picture of Jay.

DOWN WITH THE NEW FLAG!
SMASH PUTRID AVAKIANISM!

I have often thought, however, that we should have some kind of special=20
space for the fiction that is often posted to the l*st--Louis' adventures=
=20
as cattle hand, Adolfo's poems, Hans' parables (and of course, if we made
our definition of fiction a little more relaxed, we would have a rich=20
vein to mine).
Perhaps also for those interested we could arrange for the exchange of=20
pictures and other encoded files.
Or even a lonely hearts column? Announcements of births, marriages and=20
deaths? Ride board?
Why should the marxism l*st not expand to be an all-round service for the=
=20
inter-networked left?
Take care
Jon
