Now, there are cops and there are psycho-spooks too. Both are "cops" - i.e.
elements employed by the bourgeois state for enforcing the ruling classes
will among the masses, particularly against those advanced elements daring
to rebel against their rule at any level, street, or ideological.

Maybe Burford is not actually attempting to do what he has been doing -
ensnare revolutionaries - because he is being payed a salary for his pains.
Maybe he does it just for kicks. But that attitude, in a suppossed "man of
science", is rather shameful. Now that he has been kicked back and given a
dosis of his own medicine, he does not like it one bit! It serves him
right. If he is nothing but an imprudent fool, this lesson may teach him
something which may save his own life and reputation tomorrow.

Todays most advanced policeman is probably the psycho-spook. In Peru, Dr.
Segisfredo Luza, is the notorious psychiatrist attached to SIN, the National
Intelligence Service of the fascist Fujimori regime. I wonder if Rodwell
would deny that Luza is at the very least just as bad as the worst and most
sadistic physical torturer or riot policeman.

The use of medical science for counter-revolutionary purposes, has never
been looked with leniency by progressive public opinion in history. There
was a touch of the modern psychiatrist in the Witchfinder General. More
recently, remember Dr. Mengele?. There were also other notorious medical
men attached to such organs of imperialist repression in the japanese Army
who thoroughly disgraced themselves too.

At one point, Mengele too must have been an obscure physician, a man of
medical science, working unobtrusively for some Health Department in pre-war
Germany. Maybe he did a bit of adventorous practising of his "arts" for his
own "professional curiosity".

Maybe he began his later notorious career by playing a bit as god and using
the occasionally available communist or jewish concentration camp prisoner
as a guinea pig for his experiments. Later, when there was a war, he ended
up working for the Gestapo and given free rein to do his practising upon
thousands more.

We too are facing the prospect of developing fascism and class war measures
on the part of the reactionary bourgeoisie. Rodwell himself talks the
upcoming "wars and revolutions". There is nothing like wars and revolution
to bring out the best and worse in people.

I find it disturbing that Rodwell can remain so cheeful and dismissive in
reference to Burfords irresponsible - to say the least - "pre-class-war"
activities in this list. Even if he considers himself his friend, he should
remonstrate with him for his behaviour. Friends, and moreover Leftists
friends, are supposed to look after each other to at least help avoid ending
up as real war criminals and notorious enemies of the people.

However, Rodwell, points the finger away from Burford to the cop-as-thug
element of the bourgeois apparatus in Turkey, something he can hardly do
anything concrete about, except lament it in front of his TV set back in Sweden.

By so cheerfully excusing psychological warfare and repression as the new
tactics been used to satisfy the reactionary necessities of bourgeois
repression, and dismissing even the idea that these psycho-spooks are in any
way like "cops", only shows that he is really stuck back in 1917, and
seriously expects that the only reactionary weapons of suppression today
would be Cossacks charges. I find that more naive than usual on Rodwell.
Moreover, in someone chattering so much about leadership. Leadership
requires to be up-to-date and, our friend, in my opinion, is sadly lacking
in that department.

At this rate, and, if I too consider likely, we are entering such
intensified period of wars and revolutions - the flames are already
spreading in the world, look up Mexican news today - maybe Burford could end
up as a "Shrink of Death" while Rodwell fiddles blindly besides him.

For me, personally, this was no joke, is no joke and would be no joke ever!
