Broad left American pragmatism
Carrol's list of irrational people on the list:
Emotional > 1. ANY MESSAGE THAT HAS ITS SUBJECT LINE IN ALL CAPS.
Trot > 2. Malecki
Maoist > 3. Rolf
Maoist > 4. MIM
Trot > 5. Hugh R (somewhat reluctantly, but as Louis has pointed
> out, Hugh has sent too many 200 line tautologies which
> can't be enacted in practice)
Maoist > 6. "Ruby" (Gina): Hers are sometimes interesting, but I
> don't have the time to distinguish.
Emotional/Trot > 7. Any post (even from friends) with "Malecki" in the
> subject line
Maoist > 8. "harriette"
Maoist > 9. Chris B. (At least until (i) he drops out of the
Maoist
> wars and (ii) he drops efforts to act as peacemaker
on
> the list. When he speaks for himself on concrete
topics
> he is a positive on the list.
Trot > 10. Adam
Trot > 11. Miller
Only 2 of 11 are Americans living in the US.
Underlying all this seems to be a pragmatic assumption that all the
principles have already been thrashed out and are there in a consensus, and
all that needs to be done is to get stuck in and carry out these ready-made
policies on a ready-made revolutionary agenda.
If only this was the case!
Cheers,
Hugh
