Louis : you wrote a while ago that the splits
will be on questions concerning the class struggle - and I agree.

The theory of State Capitalism is important in the Western Democracies
only insofar as it allows us to build on the real Marxist, ie the Leninist,
tradition in relation to the class struggle ( different matter in the ex
Stalinist countries, and "the third world" ).  We are building on the basis of
this tradition. I think you can only be successful if you build on the basis
of this tradition, and that if you build on any other basis, even if you
can recruit, it leads to disaster. So all these posts are an attempt to
explain what I think that tradition is, and why alternatives lead to
disaster.

It seems to me that the sort of party you want is a PSI style party,
perhaps minus its extreme right wing. How then will you avoid Italian style
defeats ? Do we have to throw away a revolutionary situation, with all the
dangers that entails, BEFORE we have these splits ?
