Thanks Jorn and Adam i have dug out my copy of O'Connor Lysaght's study of
the Republic and I will look up the recent stuff in NLR and get back to
this thread.

You're right we need some more data. Perhaps Karl might join in and there
are a few Irish lurkers who might want to get their feet wet.
