I think that another parameter, among others, to be considered in the state
capitalism evaluation is;
-Whether labour-power is still a commodity or not? And to which degree? How
dominant is this?
That means asking if the working class forced into compliance under the
threat of unemployment.
While revolutions in backward countries are very messy affairs, I think the
priorities of the post-revolutionary governments over time quite closely
reflect the class basis, however troubled by the very backwardness that
ignited the revolution in the first place.
I find myself agreeing mostly with Louis Proyect on the debate, just wanted
to say that I think degree of nationalisation, planning and such are not
good tools by themselves for class analysis.
