sterile debate
Dear friends on the list,
All this dialectic about Stalin,Trotsky, degenerate worker states, etc
is all very well, but some of us live in the real world. We have long
hours of work to survive, and children, whose future we worry about, to
raise. It is takingmost of my spare time reading all this stuff, never
mind replying!
Workers are suffering and dieing around the world. Maybe it would be a
more possitive, and less sterile debate if we spoke about how we can show
solidarity with our sisters and brothers in struggle, and hardship.
Exchanges from our own experiences are always very valuable.
My experience of Trots is that anything they touch turns to dust. They
always seem to divide any movement they involve themselves in; be it
Peace,Anti-Apartheid,Anti-Racism, various strike actions...-everything!
Ireland- Most of the Left in Britain take a very patronising attitude to
the Irish situation. It is not for us to tell the Irish how they should
conduct their national liberation struggle. Our duty is to pressure the
British state to get out of a place where they do not belong, while at
the same time exposing the nature of imperialism.
Sorry-I am writing this at 05:00 before work, so I hope I do not come
over as being really grumpy.
Best wishes,
Richard
