On the other hand, (President Alberto Fujimori) said that he awaits the
results of the investigation on the alleged irregular actions committed by
the second Vice-President Cesar Paredes Canto, although he noted that he
does not agree with sending letters lobbying for private companies.  In an
informal conversation, he also denied that there is any power manipulating
him from behind.  He said "I am the state".
