Just a quick comment about the 21 points : these were a very specific
remedy for a very specific problem - the development of mass centrist
parties who wanted to join the 3rd international, the revolutionary
rank + file bringing along their reformist leaders.

There never were any 21 points in Russia because the Bolsheviks had already
gone through a revolution, repression, ultra leftism, mysticism ( ! ) , etc, and
had therefore done this internal sifting and clarification over a long period
of time. The 21 points were almost an attempt to impose this long learning
period in Russia onto a few months in the international - and it very nearly
worked, remarkably.
