  Well Adam, in my more self-delusive moments, I like to think I am doing that
now. The Internet is a great help to rail workers, whose schedules and
work-life style make getting together at meetings very difficult.

  I have been around long enough now in the shop to pretty much say whatever I
want there and get away with it. That piece on the union leadership got posted
on the bulletin board at work and was widely read. Most people agreed with it.

  I was just offered the position of secretary of my local and turned it
down(the incumbent is being setup as a foreman.) I was able to explain that 1.
I need to maintain my independence of the officialdom, 2. The local needed to
widen the net and involve more people in positions of responsibility. There
was little difficulty for the folks that wanted me to do the job in
understanding my position.

  I did say I would do something if absolutely no one else could be found. I
am not against taking a post in principle.

  As to the ISO, I am pretty convinced of the worker's state analysis. I am a
partisan of the Cuban revolution. However, I hope some day that your tendency
and others will be part of a new workers international of the sort that Zeynap
discussed. The need for such an organization is becoming clearer to broader
sections of the working class.
