Come on Boddhi: Don't be a party pooper! We are celebrating with joy the
initiation, 16 years ago of a great historical epopey in which millions of
people from the masses have put their grain of sand in order to contribute
to the development of the world revolution why building up a new Peru. That
is not small peanuts for us, its a bit of a 14 Juliet for the French. So a
bit of glory and jubilation is not overmuch considering all the sacrifices
of so many unsung heroes and the importance in history that their
contribution will acquire as time reveals the true dimention of their
actions, of the Party and Chairman Gonzalo's contributions too.

Consider the year 1980. Reagan comes to power in America, Thatcherism is
already in place in Britain, China has started to show its "change of
colour" and gloom and doom begin to spread among socialists and progressives
all over the world. Everything is denied, socialism, communism, Marxism,
all proclaimed dead and buried from the rooftops of the bourgeoisie and many
of their so called "leftist" scribblers and "intellectual" luminaries.
Fukuyama is a phenomena of the 80s, the most reactionary verticalism is
presented as post modernity, and there is no one to counter-vail this
influence and bear the torch of the continuation of the revolution.

That is just one of the merits of the People's War in Peru, and the fact
that it befell the people and the proletariat of a small country in the
Third World to carry this torch until better times for the people's cause -
which now are beginning to dawn - actually appeared in the horizon, and the
drunken dreams of the bourgeoisie proclaiming the end of Marxism had began
to vanish like "the smoke of a cheap cigar" is a great achievement too that
merits a bit more recognition and celebration that some people are willing
to give it because of their anti-Maoist prejudices.

Moreover, I do a agree with quite a lot of your criticism - as does Chairman
Mao himself. Stereotype party writing is no good and denotes a lack of a
solid marxist grounding in people who use it. This is something we have to
work at, and we are already doing it. It takes time to adapt from one style
to the other, but if you read El Diario Internacional you will see that it
is real revolutionary journalism from a Third World country already striving
in the direction of riding itself as much as possible from the stereotype style.

By the way, today it is also the 30th Anniversary of the May Sixteen
Directive of Chairman Mao which some people consider as the beginning of the
Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution in China. There was a May 7th
Directive, which in my opinion set the goals of this revolution with all
clarity, and that people ought to celebrate too because it points out
towards the future that we must all follow towards the Communist goal.

I wonder if there are any serious comments on this historical date, or the
questions of cleaning pissoirs is still foremost in the mind of some
"elegant Marxists" that actually could do well with a good six months as
lavatory assistants themselves. We could in fact make a collection to
provide them with the iron brooms to do the job! I'll put the idea tomorrow
to the many comrades who will assemble in London for our celebration.

If you are in the mood, let us know if you too are willing to join us in an
"electronic celebratory toast" for our Grand Celebrations!.

Many regards

Adolfo
