Support Aug. 12 Chicano marcha on the Web!

On Aug. 12, 1996, the National Chicano Moratorium Committee, Raza Rights
Coalition and a host of Chicano organizations will stage a national marcha
on the Republican National Convention in San Diego, Califas (CA). The event
is endorsed by numerous groups, including Brown Berets de Aztlan, MEChA,
National People's Democratic Uhuru Movement, Union del Barrio and many
more. Now the effort to inform Chicanos and other conscious people about
this mass demonstration comes to the World Wide Web.

A web page for the marcha can be accessed at http://www.tripod.com/~ncmc.
It will be frequently updated as organizing continues. Please pass the word
of its presence. There are many ways to support it and the marcha.

Show your support and solidarity with the Chicano marcha by placing the

The theme of the banner campaign is "504 Para La Lucha" ("504 For The
Struggle"). I am hoping 504 web pages -- one for each year since Columbus'
conquest of Our people -- will take up the call and publicize this marcha
with page banners from now until the day of the marcha. In the context of
the size of the web, 504 sites is very modest, and hopefully many more will
support this marcha on the web. It cannot be confined to the USA, for
worldwide, Chicano/Latino people are under attack as are immigrants.

ENDORSE AND THE MARCHA
AND RAZA UNITY CONVENTION:

Groups are invited to publicize the marcha in their communities and endorse
it and the Raza Unity Convention happening that weekend. You can get more
information on endorsing the marcha from the web page or by writing the San
Diego region of the NCMC at Box 1842, San Diego, CA 92112.

The marcha is organized around eight central demands: Rescind Proposition
187; Rescind "English Only" laws; Annul the Clinton "Crime Bill"; no social
or education cutbacks; Abolish the Immigration and Naturalization Service
(INS) and the Border Patrol; demolish the border; Annul NAFTA; and impeach
