VIELED ATTACK AGAINST PCP
Here is text of another flyer we distribute. -Jay
A WORLD TO WIN Magazine #1995/21 Launches Veiled
Attack Against PCP
A World To Win Magazine (AWTW) claims to be an important
weapon in a "life and death struggle" allegedly transpiring
within the Communist Party of Peru (PCP), which is leading
a successful People's War against the Fujimori regime
which is backed to the hilt by U.S. Imperialism. They
claim to be supporting the Central Committee of the PCP
against a Right Opportunist Line that "emerged from within
the ranks of the Party itself," and that calls for
negotiating peace with Fujimori. (In other words, AWTW is
attempting to rally its followers to save the PCP from
itself!)
In fact they can only take this position by rejecting the
authority of the CC of the PCP to determine its own
membership. A PCP document that is reprinted in AWTW, on
P. 22 clearly states that they; "Denounce, condemn and
smash the black grouplet that is raising a revisionist and
capitulationist R.O.L. ...Their monstrosities are a
complete negation of the Party's 1st Congress,...and
therefore they have removed themselves from the Party by
their own free will." (And in fact, most of the proponants
of that line were not members of the PCP at the time anyway,
but were prisoners under the control of the regime, or
Peruvians living in other countries)
This passage is referred to again on p. 37, in the article
entitled "It is Right to Rebel!", acknowledging that the
CC of PCP declared that the ringleaders of the Right
Opportunist Line "had placed themselves outside the Party".
So by what logic does AWTW, or the Union of Iranian Communists
(whose "leading committee" is credited with authorship of
this article), or RCP-USA claim that the struggle over the
"peace negotiations" is a two-line struggle WITHIN the PCP?
Are these organizations claiming the right or the authority
to overrule the Central Committee of the PCP in determining
who is and who is not a member of PCP? What kind of support--
or even fraternal relationship--is that?
The clearest indication that the "peace negotiations" line
was defeated within the the PCP TWO YEARS AGO is the clear
advances of the People's War since then. But AWTW covers
this up too, in the article "Reports from the Battlefield!"
(p.44). This article reprints PCP reports of actions that
took place in 1990, 1980, 1986, and 1989, totally ignoring
all that has taken place on the battlefields of the People's
War in the last FIVE years!
If we were living in the "Twilight Zone", or in a time warp,
this might be understandable. But in 1996, the age of the
internet, of faxes and e-mail, of cable TV and instant
communication, there is no excuse for RCP, UIC or AWTW to
be ignorant of the continuing advances of the revolutionary
forces in Peru. This AWTW article can only be interpreted as
intentional misinformation.
