Louis mentions the tendency to claim that victory is always possible
if the "vanguard" is brave, correct, etc. Somplace Mao, arguing the
importance of correct policy and avoiding errors, pauses to say, quite
firmly, that sometimes the enemy is simply stronger, and one is going
to lose regardless.
