Re: Ron Arnold's reply

Mr. Proyect,

The reason that the petit bourgeoisie of the west will be difficult
to bring over to the proletarian cause is that they identify with the
property rights movement. Their fundamental view is that the benefits of land
should accrue to the competitively selected owner. Nowhere in the logic of
their rhetoric is anything but a lip-service to a collective view of land
rights.

One cannot mistake bucolic for proletarian. Farmers and ranchers are
fundamentally capitalists, and American farmers and ranchers are the most
capitalistic. Even now, private farmers oppose government subsidies for
farming programs - against their own immediate interest - on a capitalist
basis. The wise use movement does not their use of federal land as a
community subsidy. They see that land as their own, denied to them by an
eastern-biased federal government.

The fact that the Russian petit bourgeoisie sided with forces
opposing feudalism is not surprising, since their interests created the
capitalism that overthrew feudal relations elsewhere. It's simple
dialectics.
