QUESTIONS FOR ADOLFO

A couple of questions I have to pose to Adolfo, anent his recent
screed against Doug Henwood.

(1) Have you ever read anything by this guy Karl Marx? He
once wrote something about how the goal of the revolutionary
movement was a society in which "the free development of all"
permitted "the free development of each" (of its members). I
know this is terribly liberal of him. But it sure makes it sound
as if, to some degree, tendencies of a generally humanist (and
even, gasp, *libertarian*) nature were part of the old
knucklehead's program -- so that a Marxist *might very well*
consider matters of sexuality to be part of social progress.
Anyway, to judge from the frequency with which you post to this
list, it seems as if you have a LOT of free time on your hands
Adolfo. So check this guy out. The name, again, is KARL MARX.

(2) Speaking of names, what is the deal with calling Henwood
"Douggy" and pretending like he is a canine? From what I've read
of the guy's stuff, he knows a lot about economics and has read
that guy Marx, and wants socialism. In fact, calling him names
sort of makes you look like you are afraid to argue with him at
any level above kindergarden wit. Can this be? Or is this some
kind of psychological problem at your end -- exacerbated by all
that free time?

Ah well, there I go again. As a penny-a-line scribbler in the
U.S. leftie press, I can never count on a regular check
from the imperialist bourgeoisie -- yet there I've gone and
written all that for free. Sometimes I do envy you. Imagine
being a Peruvian gentleman in London, extracting surplus value
from the hired laborers working for your translation service. It
sounds like a swell gig, if you can get it.

cheers, Scott McLemee
