software peculiarity -Reply
Majordomo does 'burp' when it eats certain words such as h*lp. This
generally just causes a delay in delivery, as the post is bounced to
Spoons [admin group] and must be manually forwarded on to the list,
after it is discovered that the message was not really asking for
administrative assistance after all.

List is a specialized command on some other software besides the one
used to maintain Marxism, which is majordomo. I have belonged to
other lists in which the software burps when it discovers the word
list, such as listserv and listproc. So I have gotten into the habit
of throwing an asterisk in, even when I don't need it.
