I think that answer one of the most often asked questions on the left of
recent years - Why has the world communist movement gone down the toilet

It should be noted that outside of India and China where communist
parties survive, the works of Stalin ceased being distributed or
printed by most CPs in the 50's. The majority of the members of
the parties that collapsed in 89/90 will only have known of them
by second hand repute.
