The Reniques talking about Mariategui, the founder of the PCP, is like
Pat Buchanan lecturing about Lenin. We have seen how these opportunists
are fouling the "US Left" of the like of Brecht Forum, Nacla, and Mario
Murillo of WAIB. Mariategui said: "We are politically opposed to reformism,
we are revolutionary. We shal never understand the other politcal sector:
that of mediocre social democrats, of demesticated socialism, of farcical
democracy. Furthermore, if revoltuion demands violence, authority,
discipline. We accept them as a block with all their errors, and without

What similarity has Mariategui with the Peruvian reactionaries
and reformists? Nothing.

Who are the Renique Brothers?

The Renique brothers (Gerardo and Jose Luis) are part of the most
reactiomary  elements of the fake left in Peru. They live in NY for about
5 years. In  1992 they were members of MAS (the Moyano pro-government
gang), and last  year on April 1995 they were in Peru to support the
representative  of the big bourgeoissie Perez de Cuellar in his
presidential bid (there is a large article on this in the weeekly
"Que Hacer" of Lima). [We can post it if any one is interested on this]

In the late 80's, both worked in Puno in a NGO,
in an anti-PCP effort under a grant of the General Motors, along with
the Catholic Church and PUM -an IU split- it appears at the time they
were members of this group. But in the late 80's, at the Congress
of PUM, the Reniques, Moyano, Azcueta and others were expelled from PUM
for advocating an open alliance with the APRA government and the
military and advocating the formation with the ruling class the
"anti-terrorism" front. The Reniques were send to NY with a full
scholarship paid by the Peruvian government to study "History" in a graduate
progran at Columbia University. One more scoundrel of the like of
Cuban gusanos slandering the Peruvian People, the glorious People's War
and the Communist Party of Peru.
