Re: A Question to Members of the CPUSA II

Okey. Let's get serious about this. I have genuine and honest
questions. Godenas said he doesn't look for Gus Hall to give
him ideas about what to say. I think that's good insofar the
history of the CPUSA. At least one member, Godenas, may support
Sendero over the Paredes group in Peru (according to Godenas the
CPUSA supports Paredes)and that doesn't mean an expulsion. Good.
He also said he supports North Korea politically. Charlotte said
she supports North Korea also and I gather that that is the
"official" line of the CPUSA (If I'm wrong, please correct me).
But Charlotte is not sure whether to support Sendero or not, but
tend to believe that Godenas is always right.
I'm assuming we are talking about "support or solidarity against
imperialism" but *political support*.
Now the questions:
1. Does the CPUSA accept members that support internationally a
tendency declared Maoist as Sendero and when those members opposse
with this act the policies of the party of supporting another group
(Paredes) in the same country?
2. What is the present position of the CPUSA about China? Does the
CPUSA give political support (not just "slidarity against
imperialism") to the present regime in China? If it does, on which
grounds?
3. Does the CPUSA give political support to Castro (I Know they did
before, is that still the case ... I assume the answer is yes,
but...) If the answer is yes, what is the position of the CPUSA
about the Peruvian MRTA (supported by Cuba) and the United Left
(also supported by Cuba)?
4. Is freedom of opinion so widespread nowadays in the CPUSA that
some members can openly support organizations such as Sendero which
have political and physical confrontations with the groups the
party and Cuba support (IU, United Left --- MRTA, etc)?
5. What is the position of the CPUSA about the recent meeting
between the Chinese and the Cubans? Does the CPUSA support a
possible political agreement between the Chinese and the Cubans
to regroup forces internationally with a common organization?
6. If the answer to the previous question is yes .. why? if the
question to the previous question is no .... why?
7. Is the CPUSA proposing some kind of regroupment with, let's say
similar forces around the word to reconstitute some kind of
international center? If the answer is yes, with whom?
I ask these questions because I didn't follow the CPUSA closely for
the last five or so years, so I'm really perplexed by the
statements of some of its members in this list. Don't make me
wrong: I don't support neither Sendero or Paredes in Peru but I
will say that if the CPUSA leave its own members to believe and
support whoever they want publicly will be andvanteagous, though
a little be confusing, as to the experience of the previous party
regime.
8. Waht is the present position of the CPUSA about CoC? Would they
allow membes of the CoC join back if they so request it? Would the
CPUSA allow the CoC function as a tendency inside the CPUSA if they
so request it? Is the CPUSA allowing tendencies and factions
nowadays? If the answer is yes ... when, how and why?
Sincerely,
Carlos
