A curse on the judges, the coppers and screws | Who tortured the
innocent, the wrongly accused, | For the price of promotion | And justice
to sell | May the judged be their judges when they rot down in hell

(Adds SNCF spokeswoman's remarks)
PARIS, Dec 8 (Reuter) - Striking French rail workers
disrupted Channel Tunnel train services on Friday by blocking
toll gates for vehicles leaving France and bringing to a halt
Eurostar high-speed passenger trains, officials said.
They said Le Shuttle trains bringing in vehicles from
Britain were continuing for the moment, but departures from
France had been halted from early afternoon.
``It's working from England to France, but for the moment
people arriving at the toll gates to leave for England are
having to wait and there is a queue on the motorway,'' a
spokesman for operators Eurotunnel said.
Passengers waiting at Paris Gare du Nord station for a train
to London were informed that Eurostar services to Britain had
been cancelled for the rest of the day.
A spokeswoman for the SNCF state railway said three Eurostar
trains scheduled to leave between 2.15 p.m. and 5.15 p.m. (1315
and 1615 GMT) had been cancelled, but it was possible that two
later trains would leave for London in the evening.
``Passengers will be taken to London by other means, such as
buses,'' the spokeswoman said.
Eurostar trains to London and Brussels, driven by foreign
train drivers, were the only services still running on French
railways, paralysed by a 15-day-old strike over government plans
to streamline the railways and welfare systems.
