Re: Introducing Sebastiano Timpanaro

I have been an admirer of Timpanaro for years. I have his two
books in English but don't know of anything else he has written.
Now you add just one more item. Is that all there is? Has he
written more in Italian sine these works were published? Is he
still alive?
Just a few stray notes. The one grating feature in Timpanaro's
work was his complete ignorance of Chomsky's linguistics.
Timpanaro was a philologist himself, but apparently modern
linguistic theory had not yet penetrated Italy when he was
writing. Timpanaro criticizes Chomsky's philosophical views, but
admits his own incompetence in dealing with Chomsky's linguistic
theory, while evincing indifference to it. Is it known what
Timpanaro thought of that faker-shit Ferruccio Rossi-Landi?
I always knew that Paul Piccone was an elitist European snob even
before his turn to fascism in recent years, but what really
clinched my contempt for this turd-boy was his disparaging review
of Timpanaro years ago. Materialism is always beneath these
people, so they think.
