I don't know what the world political landscape will look like in *5*
years time and neither does Doug (or anyone else). An awful lot can
happen in 200 or so years. Who knows what the world will look like then
or if there will even be life left on this planet? I believe that also
has relevance to the issue that Scott M. raised. How do we understand
human progress in the long-run? We have no way of knowing what the future
will bring or whether there will even be a future.
