Luciano Dondero posting, interjecting his opinions in between
Chris, Louis and Mine is very interesting, but I will disagree
with him. I'm not repeating the post as not to make this
posting too long:
1. We agreed with Luciano, I believe, in the basic tenets on
Stalinism and the garbage addendum that that was for Marxism.
2. His examples of Refoundazione and the meeting FCP/LCR, IMO
are not sufficient to demonstrate his point. Refoundazione *is
not* the inheritor of the Stalinist wing of the PCI. Rather,
is a coalition-typ of organization as he, himself, explained.
I believe in Italy the descendant of the Eurocommunist PCI is
the socialdemocratic PDS. Is it not?
As to the meeting between the FCP/LCR, is not the first. BTW,
what did they talk about, what did they discuss? Moreover,
the meetings of the Stalinist Cuban CP with the
"Tricontinental" in late 50s and early 60s (including the
participation of 10/12 Trotskyisyt groups from Latin-American
did not diminished the Stalinism of the Cuban CP nor produced
any substantial changes in the relationship between
Trotskyists- pro Cuban forces in LA, a exception of those who
capitulated to the other side.
Let me give you another example. Scargill, being, in my
opinion left wing stalinist isproposing the SLP in Britain.
A call I support and that, if I lived in Britain, I will try
to follow through with my membership. He, howver, has proposed
an Stalinist party constitution for the SLP. This is exactly
what I was talking about. We need to battle this garbage in
order to build a new marxist movement.
3) Your distinction between trotskyists (revolutionaries) and
Stalinists (reformists) as to assign them equal
responsabilities and somehow diminish the enormous abyss is
between the crimes of Stalinism and the missdemeanors of
Trotskyism is a mistake. Both currents told us for years
they were "revolutionaries". So the standard to judge them
should be the same. And if we judge them equally, with the
the same standard all what Trotskyists did were missdemeanors
while Stalinists committeed huge crimes and capital offenses.
Comradely,
Carlos
P.S.: I think this discussion is very good. I think Luciano is
about to convince me of some points. I think Chris and Louis
questions are completely appropriate even if I disagreed with
them.
