Carlos adds:
I do not agree with a newsgroup. THey work essentialy the same as
out list but, in order to join a list you need to take the extra
step of finding it (somebody have to tell you about its existence)
and you ara not easily run into into it. The you have to send an
E-Mail to join. You also have to send your messages to a central
person who re-post it in the list. These are all advantages over
the Newsgroup:
a. You actually have to do some work to find it and join it.
Therefore your interest have to be a little higher than joining
a newsgroup.
b. Ussually a list receive much less obnoxious visitors.
Newsgroups are visited by Cyberspace bums with nothing to do
but to visit newsgroups and initiate either an unrelated thread
or a flame war. That happens much less in a list.
c. If the list receives a extremely dangerous or obnoxious post,
let's say from a fascist saying "Fuck you all, Marxists" we may
decide not to continue posting them. In an unmoderated newsgroup
that happens everyday.
d. Crossposting of unrelated material happens less often in a list,
much less often ...
Comradely,
Carlos
P.S.: BTW, can everyone drop thatr useless discussions about
psychology, paranoia and other mental diseases. I'm pretty sure
uou're all good marxists, but as Psychologists ...... uhmmmmm!
