Why so quite on the Russian elections
- Subject: Why so quite on the Russian elections

Dare I provoke? Yeah, why not?
Why so quite on the Russian elections? How to explain the huge vote for the
Communist Party of the Russian Federation? (Must have been that front page
photo in the Chicago Tribune of voters casting their ballots under a
towering statue of Lenin.) Obviously a mass of working people not familiar
with the high penetrating analysis of some on this list about their
bureucratic and 'stalinist' past.
Gee Tom, if only they could have heard your 'Talkin Joe Stalin Blues' in
time. Or maybe they're just way by that silly diversion and getting on with
the business of basic change. Maybe they're no longer worried with
'Stalinism' but with fighting the privatization, poverty, war, and disaster
of capitalism that 'freed' them from their 'evil empire.'
