Lisa, I hope I didn't give a wrong impression about sport in Australia.
While women are interested in sport and participate both in playing and
watching cricket, their cricket (like their soccer) is treated like a bit
of a joke by the media and by the vast majority of cricket and soccer fans.
My point was simply that one could not assume that women are not
interested in baseball or any other sport played by men. This is different
from the question of interest in sport played by women. It is this latter
aspect where our attemtion is most fruitfully focused ...
