Jim Lawler's piece
Among the many nice surprises in my mail box this morning was Jim
Lawler's thoughtful piece on Lenin's socialism. It is not that it is
the final answer: it is a contribution to discussion.
The issues of democracy, and the management of economic activity
are fundamental to the possibilities of socialism.
I thought we had lost Jim, but now I see looking back with search and
find, that Jim has quietly been subscribing certainly since September 1st,
unless I have missed any other contribution over this time.
Newcomers to this list bring their own vitality and challenging
questions, but in the flurry of initial impressions and the volume of
mail, it may not be obvious to them that this is a list of over 300 subscribers.
Those like Jim, who may wait three months, before posting a contribution
of this quality IMO are an extremely valuable part of the invisible
community of this self-moderating project.
Chris, London.
